INFECTION CONTROL COMMITTEE
25903 published in the official gazette on 11 August 2005 by ‘infection control in accordance with the regulations associated with the health services in inpatient institutions and take control of emerging as the Prevention of infectious diseases and related problems and to identify solutions and execute and organize the activities for the decisions to be taken at the level of inpatient institutions to communicate it to the appropriate authorities responsible for allowing the committee.
DUTIES, POWERS AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE INFECTION CONTROL COMMITTEE
1) To determine and implement an infection control program in accordance with the characteristics and conditions of the inpatient treatment institution within the framework of scientific principles, to provide recommendations to the Management and relevant departments on this issue,
2) Taking into account the current national and international guidelines, to put in writing the infection control standards that should be applied in the inpatient treatment institution, to update them as necessary,
3) To provide continuous in-service training to the personnel working in the inpatient treatment institution so that they can implement these standards and to supervise the practices,
4) To develop a surveillance program in accordance with the needs and conditions of the inpatient treatment institution and to ensure the continuity of its work,
5) To set targets for the hospital infection control program in terms of hospital infection by identifying the priority departments and taking action according to the findings, to evaluate the extent to which the targets have been achieved at the end of each year and to include these assessments in the annual study report,
6) antibiotic, disinfection, antisepsis, sterilization, infection control supplies and equipment, and other fixtures that are related to your purchases, provide feedback to the commission, on; related to the mission field, in the case of inpatient care, as needed provide feedback to management decisions regarding construction and renovation,
7) In case of determining the risk of infection that poses a threat to patients or inpatient treatment facility staff, to conduct the necessary examinations, determine isolation measures, monitor and, if such a risk is detected, to take a decision on restricting or, if necessary, stopping the intake of patients to the relevant department,
8) Determining antibiotic use policies, monitoring and directing their implementation, taking into account surveillance data and antibiotic consumption data received from the pharmacy,
9) To determine the principles of sterilization, antisepsis and disinfection processes and standards related to the selection of disinfectants, to supervise their use in accordance with the standards,
10) To prepare a surveillance report including hospital infection rates, factors and resistance patterns on a quarterly basis and to notify the Management to be forwarded to the relevant departments,
11) To submit to the Management the results of the annual activity assessment prepared by the infection control team,
12) To make a decision on the problems and solution suggestions transmitted by the infection control team and to forward them to the Management.
The infection control committee works as the highest decision-making body for infection control and meets regularly at least three times a year.
